At one of this week’s information sessions, designed to brief locals about the various job opportunities at the hotel, Mr. Moore said the Minister of Public Infrastructure, Honourable Ian ‘Patches’ Liburd, and his colleagues have been very helpful, particularly in the community relations phase.

“We’re extremely grateful to have had the assistance of Minister Liburd in this practice because to do reach out in the community in this way [will be] totally ineffective without the support of Government,” Mr. Moore said. “The Prime Minister [Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris], the Minister and the entire Cabinet have been extremely supportive of the whole [job] recruitment process, the development and finding a way that we can reach communities that we may not have been able to communicate with otherwise.”

Mr. Moore said he was pleased with the turnout for the information sessions and although some persons were new to the hospitality sector, they will be given a fair opportunity to work for the hotel.

“Hyatt is a company that is very strong and believes very strongly in training and developing people and a core part of our opening team will be people who maybe don’t have experience in hospitality but do have skill sets that can be transferable to this industry,” he said. “So it’s important for us to have the opportunity to grow those people into our industry and really help forge forward with a growing hospitality industry already so well established here on the island.”

Park Hyatt St. Kitts is expected to open its doors on March 1, 2017.
