Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and Minister of Finance and People Empowerment et al, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, has announced that the Team Unity Administration will venture into several entrepreneurship programmes to assist young persons with an entrepreneurial drive.

The prime minister encouraged young persons of the Federation to get involved in the entrepreneurial sector.

“We are helping people to have an idea of being self-employed, who want to be their own boss; it is good to be employing people and I marvel at some of the young people in the country who have started from small and who have expanded.” he said

Prime Minister Harris further stated that any assistance will be given to persons who wish to venture off into the entrepreneurial world.

“We are prepared for the reforming of PEP into STEP to provide the support for those who want to engage in those areas to help them with their first chair, to help them with their equipment, to help them to pay for the rent for the first six months to get their business up and going.” he said

The present administration is working assiduously for the advancement of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis and thus will try its best to provide the necessary guidance to interested persons in the entrepreneurial world, Dr. Harris said, while emphasizing “we want to teach people how to fish.”

He advised young persons in St. Kitts and Nevis to brace themselves and to prepare for a better and brighter tomorrow where entrepreneurial opportunities will soon be provided for those who wish to set up their own businesses.

“You will find the Government that will treat you as special, so I want to say to our young people, be prepared,” he added

“We are encouraging you to get engaged” Prime Minister Harris said.
