BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 9, 2016 (SKNIS)—The formal meeting of the Cabinet took place on Monday 05th September 2016. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris.

1.     Cabinet met with the High Command of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force. The Cabinet considered submissions to deal with the safety and security in the Federation.

2.     

Cabinet approved a discounted VAT Day, which will be announced at a later date.

3.     

Cabinet approved an amendment to the National Saving Scheme Act to prevent serious leakages in rates for interest and bonus.

4.     

Cabinet decided on a day for the National Consultation on the Economy, which is Wednesday September 28, 2016. The theme for the National Consultation on the Economy is “Working Together Accelerating Growth and Building Resilience.
