Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian M. And so the Police Sports Club decided to give gift baskets to two seniors in each Policing District.” He added, “it was a pleasure for me to visit and speak with the seniors.”

In District “A” gift baskets were presented to two seniors by Commissioner Queeley who was accompanied by Sergeant Francis and other members of the Sports Club. Mr Walter Thompson of Stapleton’s Village was also presented with a gift basket. Both Ms Furlonge and Mr Thompson, thanked the Police Officers for the gesture, and then expressed their full support to the Commissioner and the other officers for the ongoing efforts in ensuring citizen safety in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Merclyn Hughes visited with District “B” and made deliveries in Farm Site, Sandy Point and Christ Church. She told each senior, “it was delight for the Police Service to share some love with the seniors in our communities, and so we brought you a basket as a token of our appreciation.” In Sandy Point, officers of the Sandy Point Police Station were on hand to visit with an appreciative Ms. Venus Virginia Mason.

In Christ Church, a vibrant Mr Noel Francis was not shy in expressing his appreciation for the visit. He told the officers, “I want to say thanks to the officers for dropping by,…..I want to say it’s good to see “Police Week” back.” Mr Francis continued, ” I’m very satisfied and I am confident in the Police with the level of service I’ve seen from the Police in fighting Crime and I want you to continue, I fully support you.” He added, “may God bless you.”

In the Nevis Division baskets were presented to Ms. Marion Herman in Newcastle Village and Ms. Iris Browne of Zion Village, Gingerland. According to Head of the Nevis Division Superintendent Trevor Mills, “the seniors we visited today were most appreciative of the gesture, and engaged us in long conversation”. Superintendent Mills added, “there was a lot of encouraging words coming from them,…. stay the course, don’t give up one said.” Superintendent Mills was accompanied by officers from the respective stations.

Police week continues with a Schools Quiz and Domino competition on Wednesday (November 02), an award ceremony for Long Service and Good Conduct on Thursday (November 03), a Job Fair on Central Street on Friday (November 04) and a Sports Day on Saturday (November 05).
