Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 25, 2016 (SKNIS): As a means of elevating school “spirit,” and showcasing the creative and positive energy within the school, the Board, teachers, parents and students of the George Moody Stuart School will carry out the first ever “Spirit Week” from November 28 to December 02, 2016.
The event has been added to the school’s calendar as a fundraiser as one means of raising money to construct a new school. Teachers and students are currently being temporarily housed at the St. Johnson’s Community Centre.
Spirit Week also serves as an opportunity for parents and students to demonstrate the school’s motto of “I am, I can, I ought, I will,” particularly on what has been termed “Wannabe Wednesday.” This day will enable students to dress in outfits that depict the careers that they are interested in taking up as adults.
Each day of the week from November 28 will feature a different theme, as follows:

Moody Monday – Each student will wear something to depict his/her mood for the day; such as sleepy, happy, sad and so forth.

Tacky Tuesday – Each student will dress in a strange manner; such as mismatched colours, patterns, socks and so forth.

Wannabe Wednesday – Each student will wear an outfit to depict the career in which they are interested.

Throwback Thursday ¬– Each child will dress in a fashion from a foregone era or decade; such as the 1960s.

Freaky Friday – Each child will have a costume-like appearance with coloured hair, face paint and so forth.

The George Moody Stuart School also takes the opportunity to invite donations from the general public, particularly the alumni of the school, as donations are being sought to construct a new facility. The next fundraiser will be a Christmas Concert which takes place Wednesday, December 07, at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Johnson’s Community Centre.

Your support to enable the future of a school that is part of the history of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis would be greatly appreciated.
