Managers and editors of the St. Kitts and Nevis News Media were hosted for lunch at The Pavilion Beach Club in what was the first of an annual Christophe Harbour Development sponsored Media Luncheon.
Hosted by Vice President of Operations Jon Gersonde, the luncheon was attended by representatives of media houses from both islands in the federation. It was a social event at which the new vice president took the opportunity to interact socially.
Gersonde in a brief comment to the media said, “It is a pleasure to welcome those of you who have not been to Christophe Harbour before, and to say to all of you that it is a pleasure to have you here.” Some media, however, took the opportunity to ask a few questions.
He indicated that more progress will be achieved in the coming year, as the project continues to develop. Before the end of the year, he said, the retail operations will begin at the Customs House providing a variety products for patrons at the Marina.”
He said also that the public would see increased activity in areas such as Salt Plage, the award winning seaside restaurant at Whitehouse Bay.
The super yacht season is also expected to be substantially better than last year. Several promotional activities were accomplished this year within the super yacht industry both in Europe and in North America.
In addition to the retail outlets, refueling capabilities is a major plus for attracting business to The Marina.
What’s just as important, he said, is the significant impact on the country’s economy deriving from local services provided at The Marina.
Gersonde offered an invitation to the media for early 2017.
