Following his visit to the site of the fire in Silver Lake on Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Skerrit told DBS radio that Government will also provide support to the small businesses in Silver Lake that were affected by the fire.
He said, “In respect to people who had small businesses – I know a young lady who had a shop there, who was well-stocked, she went to the bank and contracted a loan and built her [business]. We will also provide them with support. We will provide them with support as far as possible with stuff they would have lost. Some of them would have had stuff on hire purchase and so forth so we are providing that to them.”
