BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, DECEMBER 29, 2016 (SKNIS) – Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy has congratulated several of his constituents on their sterling performances in competitions for Sugar Mas 45, while expressing pride in the talented young people of St. Christopher Seven.
Miss National Caribbean Insurance Co. Ltd, Katherina Davis, wowed the judges and the audience on December 28 to capture the 2016/17 National Carnival Queen title. Davis also won the Best Interview, Best Swimsuit Appearance, Best Evening Gown Appearance, the Miss Photogenic and the Chairperson’s award amassing a grand total of 1224.5 points. Hailing from the village of Molineux, Davis became the fourth Sugar Mas 45 contestant from Constituency Seven to place among the top finishers in their respective competitions.
On December 26, Tabernacle resident Sarai Hutchinson copped the first runner-up position in the 2016/17 National Talented Teen Pageant behind winner Dolicia Barry of the Verchild’s High School. The Cayon High School student also secured the Best Formal Teenage Evening Wear and Miss Photogenic awards. Her school also won the award for being the Most Spirited.
Then, on December 27, Nakilah Watson and Joseph Tudor, both residents of Molineux Village, emerged first runners-up in the Miss National Carnival Swimwear and the Mr. GQ Competition respectively.
Watson flattered the audience to win the Best in Tropical Fantasy Wear, Best in Body Painting, Best in National Pride Creative Wear and the Most Popular Swimsuit Contestant Online Awards. In his event, Tudor won the Onstage Interview and Mr. Photogenic Awards.
Prime Minister Harris, the Member of Parliament from Belle Vue to Ottley’s, commended his four constituents for their efforts and determination.
Dr. Harris said that all four participants have made their constituency proud, as their collective achievements represent a record for the number of winners hailing from Constituency Seven in a single National Carnival celebration.
