Basseterre, St. Kitts (November 3, 2017) – St. Kitts is pleased to be the only Caribbean destination included in Conde Nast Traveler’s article on the “Best Places to Visit in December.”

“It is such an honor to be included in this article, as it marks yet another prestigious publication citing the destination for excellence,” said Racquel Brown, CEO of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority. “Each time we receive accolades such as this one, it raises the profile of St. Kitts and helps us grow brand awareness among key target visitors.”

The article appeared on Conde Nast Traveler’s website on October 30 and in the publication’s enewsletter on November 2. Written by Mark Ellwood, it notes that the destination was season largely unharmed following hurricanes Maria and Irma that is welcoming visitors and calls it “increasingly appealing.”

It further mentions the new Delta flight to island from JFK as joining the service on United from Newark and recommends the newly opened Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour within the 2,500-acress Christophe Harbour development as a place to stay.  A photo of Frigate Bay from Timothy Hill accompanies the inclusion.

Conde Nast Traveler reaches an audience of affluent individuals who are pre-disposed to all things travel.  Per website data reported by SimilarWeb, the online publication alone receives approximately 4.79 million total visits per month.

In addition to this recognition from Conde Nast Traveler received in conjunction with Nevis, the island has received a number of distinctions this year.  Most recently, The Wall Street Journal ranked St. Kitts as #9 on a list of 10 places across the world for Where to Vacation in 2017, Coastal Living ranked St. Kitts as #16 of The World’s 21 Top Luxury Beach Destinations in 2017 and Caribbean Journal ranked as #11 of 25 Caribbean Destinations to Visit in 2017. St. Kitts has also been named #8 of the Top 10 Sexiest Places on the Planet by Reader’s Digest (Canada), one of the Best Caribbean Cruise Destinations by Thrillist and one of 6 Caribbean Islands You Need to Visit Now by Travelocity.  Further, St. Kitts’ Brimstone Hill National Park was ranked as one of the 25 Most Beautiful Places in the Caribbean by Conde Nast Traveler and the St. Kitts Music Festival was ranked among the Best Music Festivals in the Caribbean by USA Today.

St. Kitts is also currently ranked by US News & World Report, with sister island Nevis, at #1 on a list of Best Caribbean Honeymoons, #2 on a list of the Best Beach Honeymoon Destinations in the World, #7 on a list of the Best Islands in the World, #11 on a list of the Best Family Vacations in the Caribbean, #12 on a list of the Best Caribbean Beaches and #16 on a list of the Best Places to Visit in the Caribbean.  The destination is also ranked at  #8 on a list of the Top 10 Best Islands for a Holiday by Places To See In Your Lifetime and one of the Top 12 Best Caribbean Vacations on FlipKey.com, the vacation rental company of leading travel website, TripAdvisor®.
