BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, April 11, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris wrapped up several days of successful engagements with international market agents, partners and other stakeholders involved in the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) industry in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday, April 10.

Government of St. Kitts and Nevis Unveils Vibrant “Independence 42” Calendar, Celebrating 42 Yearsof Sovereign Progress

Prime Minister Harris was in the Middle Eastern country promoting the various options available under the Federation’s Citizenship by Investment programme, including the recently introduced Sustainable Growth Fund, which replaced the Hurricane Relief Fund.

 

During a forum hosted by CS Global Partners at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Dubai, international agents commended the St. Kitts and Nevis government on the introduction of the new fund and reiterated their support of the Federation’s CBI programme.

 

The St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister also met with Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two high-level officials engaged in extensive discussions on a number of matters including the exploration of mutually beneficial partnerships between the two countries in areas of education, heritage, technology, double taxation, tourism and visa free access.

 

Following the bilateral discussions, Prime Minister Harris signed a historic Air Services Agreement with His Highness Sheikh Abdullah signaling the further strengthening of bilateral cooperation between both nations.

 

The honourable prime minister thanked His Highness Sheikh Abdullah for his efforts to deepen the relationship with St. Kitts and Nevis through various projects such as the UAE-Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund.

 

Dr. Harris, who is accompanied by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Unit, Mr. Les Khan; Consul General at the Consulate of St. Kitts and Nevis in Dubai, Mr. Justin Hawley; Chairman of St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank, Mr. Alexis Nisbett and President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Faron Lawrence, later attended a cocktail reception with citizens and friends of St. Kitts and Nevis inside the Astor Ballroom at the St. Regis Dubai.

 

Prime Minister Harris is now in Hong Kong where he is expected to meet with more international marketing agents and partners, as he seeks to further promote St. Kitts and Nevis’ Citizenship by Investment Programme.
