Each year during the month of May, the Public Works Department celebrates “Public Works Week.” During this week, activities are engaged in to promote public awareness of the importance of Public Infrastructure: Roads, Government Buildings, Vehicle Maintenance, Quarrying and the Engineering and Construction Sector.

This year “Public Works Week” will run from May 13th – 19th under the theme: “PWD – Serving the Community.” Public Works Week celebrates the vital role which Public Works (or Public Infrastructure) plays in connecting us as a community. Just think of how our streets, roads, bridges, and public transportation keep us linked together and ultimately assure a higher quality of life for our communities.
