Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport St. Kitts Meteorological Services
St. Christopher Air & Sea Port Authorities P.O. Box 963
Basseterre
St. Kitts

Please be advised that the message being circulated via “whatsapp messenger” and other social media purporting an impending heat wave and issued by the ‘Met Office’ is NOT an authentic message from the St. Kitts Met Office nor is intended for the residents of St. Kitts and Nevis.
At this moment there is no threatening heat wave advisory for us here in St. Kitts and Nevis. However, if one is to be ever issued in the future for us here in St.Kitts and Nevis, it will clearly be labeled from The St. Kitts Met Office and will be on our letterhead and shared widely via the media houses and through NEMA (also on their letterhead).
We are encouraging the general public to be guided by information from the St. Kitts Met Office and NEMA who are the competent authority for weather information and disaster information here in St. Kitts and Nevis.
I will also like to discourage persons in the general public from spreading inaccurate and unsubstantiated information via social media about possible weather events for us here in St. Kitts and Nevis.
