DENNIS KNIGHT RECEIVES INSTRUMENT OF APPOINTMENT TO SERVE ON INTEGRITY COMMISSION

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 30, 2018 (SKNIS): A brief but meaningful ceremony was held at Government House on Thursday, August 30, which symbolized the introduction of Consultant, Dennis Knight, as a member of the Integrity Commission.

Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, said that Mr. Knight’s years of professional experience made him an excellent nominee.

“Mr. Knight comes eminently qualified to perform. His reputation as a great citizen of St. Kitts and Nevis precedes him and therefore, I do not need now to commend his virtue safe to say that we are honoured that he had accepted this offer of service to the country and we wish him all the very best,” said Prime Minister Harris.

Governor General, His Excellency Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton, echoed similar sentiments and congratulated Mr. Knight on his appointment.

“I take this opportunity to wish you well in terms of your undertaking. I have known you over a number of years so I know that you are an eminently responsible professional and that you will discharge your duties with distinction,” stated Sir Tapley.”

Mr. Knight thanked Prime Minister Harris and Sir Tapley, and noted that he will continue to work assiduously to serve the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

“I just want to thank you for another opportunity to serve the country and commit my services to the fullest, and I wish to ensure you sirs that I will do my very best at all times. Thank you very much,” added Mr. Knight.

During his monthly press conference on Thursday. August 30, Prime Minister Harris used the occasion to congratulate the other members of the Integrity Commission, namely, Chairman Damian Kelsick and member – Carol Boddie.

The Integrity in Public Life (IPL) Act came into force in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, after which the Integrity Commission was established.
