His Excellency The Governor- General, Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton GCMG, CVO, QC, JP fulfilled several official engagements over this past weekend.
On Saturday morning at the St. Kitts Marriott Hotel Ballroom, His Excellency attended the September 2018 White Coat Ceremony of the University of Medicine and Health Sciences, St. Kitts. One hundred and twenty medical students were outfitted with their White Coats by members of the Faculty of the University in the presence of their family members and friends who had journeyed to St. Kitts to witness this important transition by the students to the start of their medical professional lives.
On Sunday morning, His Excellency attended the 16th Sanitation Workers Day Service held at the Apostolic Faith Mission at St. Johnson Avenue, Basseterre. His Excellency had much pleasure in hosting last year’s 15th Anniversary Service at Government House. As part of the Service, sanitation workers from Environmental Health, Solid Waste and Parks and Beaches were presented with gifts by the Hon. Eugene Hamilton, Minister of Health on behalf of the Organizers of the special event, the Apostolic Faith Mission. The workers and guest were all treated to lunch to conclude this Appreciation Day.
The theme for this Year’s Event was “Health can only be achieved with all of us working together,”
