Basseterre (11TH Sept.,2018): The St. Kitts Tourism Authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism hosted its fourth installation of customer service workshops, for front line workers in the tourism industry, on Monday 10th September, 2018.

The workshop was aimed specifically towards craft vendors as it concentrated on key objectives that will enhance their customer service standards, improve their history and knowledge of the destination, and provide practical skills which are critical to boosting quality output and overall productivity of their products.

Craft vendors were introduced to a 12-module program that will be delivered over a three-year period.

Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Lindsay F.P. Grant, said as the destination continues to transition into a high-end destination, it is imperative that the tourism industry provides exceptional customer service at all levels.

“Twenty years ago Port Zante was built with the vision to meet the growing demand that we are now experiencing, and my Ministry will continue to regulate and manage the quality of the guest experience to ensure high visitor ratings and spend are achieved,” Minister Grant said.

Modules featured at this year’s session focused on entrepreneurship, effective selling strategies, creativity and innovation in craft, and practicum—a practical session where vendors created craft.

Certificates were awarded to participants, outlining the modules that were completed at the end of the workshop.
