BILL TO ESTABLISH REGIONAL CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT REGULATOR REVIEWED AT ECCU LEGAL MEETING IN ANGUILLA

Cryptocurrency, bitcoins, digital currency and other innovations in the payments systems, along with how businesses can use technology to improve their operations and profitability, will be the focus of the 2018 Financial Information Month Business Symposium on 31 October at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium.

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) and Financial Information Month partners in the Federation are collaborating to host the symposium under the theme: Conducting and Protecting Your Business in a Digital Environment.

Simon Chantry, Chief Business Development Officer at Bitt Inc,based in Barbados, will be the featured presenter on the topic: Innovation in the Payments System: cryptocurrency, bitcoins, mobile wallets, digital currency…Are We Ready for the Transformation? The discussants will be Alex Straun, a FinTech Developer from St Kitts and Nevis and Francis Fontenelle, Adviser in the Banking and Monetary Operations Department, ECCB.

Dr Lyndell St Ville, Owner and Chief Technology Officer at DataShore, Saint Lucia will be the key speaker on the topic: Restructuring and transforming your business to take advantage of opportunities in the digital environment. Tishon Thomas, IT Professional, St Kitts and Nevis and Grenville Williams, Director of the Regional Security System Asset Recovery Unit will share their perspectives and experiences on the topic.

The symposium is open to the public and is free of cost, but individuals who wish to attend are required to register at the University of the West Indies Open Campus, The Gardens, Basseterre.
