BASSETERRE (22nd November, 2018):Close to 10,000 cruise passengers from three cruise ships enjoyed the sights and sounds of St. Kitts today.

The cruise ships were the Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Sun and the Celebrity Reflection.

Minister of Tourism The Hon. Lindsay F.P. Grant said he expected stakeholders to do everything in their power to ensure a welcoming, memorable and enjoyable experience for the cruise visitors.

“Recently we announced that St. Kitts was third in the Caribbean in the average cruise passenger spend. For this to continue to increase we must work together to consistently strive to provide a premier experience for our guests,” Minister Grant said.

St. Kitts has established itself as one of the leading cruise destination in the Caribbean. However, Minister Grant said this achievement should not mean that stakeholders should become complacent, but continue to work hard to exceed the expectations of our guests.

The new cruise season (2018-2019) started in October, and almost 200,000 cruise passengers had been estimated to have visited the destination, as of the 22nd November, 2018. The St. Kitts Tourism Authority is projecting more than 1.2 million cruise passengers by the end of the cruise season.
