Minister Grant said that MSC Cruise Lines is expanding rapidly, and that he has visited their headquarters at least three times this year to strengthen the partnership. This has resulted in MSC ships being scheduled to make a total of 15 calls to St.Kitts in this cruise season.
The Minister also pointed out that as the cruise sector continues to grow, a variety of visitors will come to our shores.
“Through our strategic planning not only are we welcoming our North American visitors but the destination has grown in its appeal to the European cruiser as well. As a result, there is a high demand for various languages in order to enhance the guest experience. Over the past years, we have employed multilingual customer service agents to meet the growing demand for foreign languages at our ports,” Minister Grant said.
Minister Grant noted that it was equally important that young people, stakeholders, taxi and tour bus operators and other front line employees learn foreign languages such as French, Spanish, Italian and German.
For the month of December, the destination will receive four inaugural calls: MSC Preziosa, Symphony of the Seas, Norwegian Jade and Norwegian |
