Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 10, 2018 (SKNIS): The St. Kitts and Nevis National Commission for Universal Health Care (SKNNCUHC) will host its final town hall-styled public consultation tonight, Monday, (December 10) at the St. Peters Community Centre. It begins at 7 p.m.

Over the past four weeks, members of the SKNNCUHC have met with residents and citizens in their respective communities to share information on the proposed coverage outlined in the Green Paper for Universal Health Care for the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Clifford Griffin, Coordinator of the Universal Health Care Secretariat, said that the town hall meetings last week in Cayon and Conaree have had a higher turnout of attendees. He said that officials expect this trend to continue tonight as it is the final public consultation.

Mr. Griffin added that the consultations have been quite useful as the commission members were able to clear up a number of issues. He said that some of the more common questions relate to benefit and financing options, as well as implications for persons who already have private insurance.

Persons are encouraged to seize the opportunity to engage with officials at the final town hall-styled public consultation.

In the meantime, the engagement with employee groups and other stakeholders will continue. This week, meetings have been scheduled with the staff of the Ministries of Finance, National Security, Agriculture, and Office of the Prime Minister, among others.

For more information about the Green Paper interested individuals can visit the National Commission at its office at the Sands Complex, call telephone number 466-9697, or log on to www.facebook.com/SKNNCUHC.
