Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 01, 2019 (SKNIS): Principal of Certified Information Security, Allen Keele, is currently in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis training public servants to be eligible for professional certification as Certified ISO 27001 Lead Implementers and Internal Controls Architects, who can effectively manage the threats and risks to government’s information by establishing Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) based on international standards.

Mr. Keele hailed the efforts by government to be ISO Certified as an important step to protecting information, adding that he is dedicated to ensuring that this is successful as it would prove beneficial going forward.

“We can actually get government and its agencies certified and recognized by ISO for having information security best practices. That is a tremendous accomplishment because it is one thing to claim that you have good controls; it is one thing to claim that you have good management programme, but when you can get third party attestations of your programmes through ISO that is called official bragging rights,” he said.

He added that once certified through ISO “you are able to then demonstrate to internal and external stakeholders that you have information security that they can believe in and respect. They don’t have to ask what kind of information security because 27001 defines the international understanding of what information security is.”

In July 2018, Mr. Keele exposed a number of permanent secretaries to a one-day Executive Risk Management training seminar aimed at assisting them to better understand risk management and to be able to implement some of the techniques taught.

Certified Information Security is based in Florida, United States. Allen Keele is also an Author; CFE; Certified ISO 31000 Internal Controls Risk Analyst; Certified ISO 22301 Business Continuity Manager, and Certified ISO 27001 Internal Controls Architect. He has authored six books and has over 28 current and retired credentials.
