BASSETERRE (13TH February 2019): One full scholarship is available for applicants who are ordinarily resident in one of the following countries: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Turks and Caicos Islands. The scholarship is available to applicants who are applying to a full-time or part-time one year master’s (MSc/MSt) course in the Social Sciences Division (except the Saïd Business School), within the range accepted by Christ Church. To check whether the course you are planning to apply for is accepted by Christ Church, please review the relevant Course page.

The scholarship covers course fees and a grant for living costs for full-time students of at least £14,777 (students on part-time courses will receive a study support grant instead). Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course. The scholarship is jointly funded by the University and Mr. Maurice Bonham-Carter, a Christ Church alumnus. Mr Bonham-Carter is an established entrepreneur who has been active for many years in the Caribbean and wishes to give back to those countries listed by helping to broaden the experiences and further the education of exceptional students.

The scholarship is only tenable at Christ Church. All eligible applicants will be considered for this scholarship, regardless of which college (if any) you state as your preference on the graduate application form. However, successful applicants will be transferred to Christ Church in order to take up the scholarship.

There is no separate application process for this scholarship: to be considered, submit your application for graduate study by the relevant January deadline for your course. Selection is expected to take place in April 2019. Please visit http://www.ox.ac.uk/node/36528#idtravel for more information about the application and selection process.
