Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 31, 2019 (SKNIS): Anthony De Silva, Chairman of Innotech Services (St. Kitts) Ltd, has stated that the construction of the new Basseterre High School (BHS) project has been a very detailed and in-depth process to go through.

“We have been involved in this project since 2015 and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this process here in St. Kitts has been the most rigorous undertaking for an approval process that I have seen since I’ve been involved in construction in 1991/1992,” he said during a community forum held on May 29 to discuss the construction of the school.

Mr. De Silva stated that the company has been involved in some very comprehensive, major, difficult projects in the water industry and in education.

“It’s heartening to see and we welcomed the opportunity. We learnt a lot. It has been a very collaborative approach,” he said.

The chairman said that the Government of National Unity, with legislation, has set up how it intendeds to mandate proper development.

“That is exactly what is happening here in this project,” he said. “It has been a rigorous process. We’ve enjoyed it. It has been scientific based all the way through. “The government has mandated that we get the best and that is what we have done.”

Mr. De Silva stated that the project, when built, will be the most modern, state-of-the-art secondary school in the entire Caribbean.

“I’m not even going to limit it to the English speaking Caribbean. The entire Caribbean. This is revolutionary,” he said.

Innotech is a family owned construction company out of Barbados which has been in operation since 1991. The company has placed a strong emphasis on schools. It operates in Barbados, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines and will soon operate in Dominica and Grenada.
