KINGSTON, Jamaica, June 14, 2019 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris and the Prime Minister of Jamaica, the Honourable Andrew Holness, today (Friday, June 14) held bilateral discussions during a meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister at Jamaica House, the prime minister’s official residence.

Prime Minister Harris is currently on an official visit to Jamaica.

During the brief discussions, the two Caribbean leaders addressed a number of matters of regional importance.

Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris is the current Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). He assumed the Chairmanship of the regional bloc from Prime Minister Holness on January 1, 2019.

Following the very cordial meeting, Prime Minister Harris signed a Book of Condolence in honour of the Most Honourable Edward Seaga, the fifth Prime Minister of Jamaica, who passed away on May 28.

Dr. Harris described the former Jamaican prime minister as a trailblazer in regional politics and a figure whose life and work today’s Caribbean politicians can emulate.
