This morning (Thursday) His Excellency The Governor–General, Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton, GCMG, CVO, QC, JP hosted two ceremonies.
The first Ceremony was the presentation to Mr. Lemuel Pemberton of Nevis, the Points of Life Certificate signed by Her Majesty The Queen, recognising his work in the conservation of sea turtles in Nevis as an outstanding example of the promotion of conservation and nature.
His Excellency congratulated Mr. Pemberton on this significant achievement and wished him well in the continuation of this important ecological undertaking.
Mr. Pemberton was in 2011 involved in the release of baby turtles in Nevis by His Royal Highness Prince Harry during his Visit to Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The second Ceremony was the administration of three (3) Oaths namely The Oath of Allegiance, The Oath of Office and The Oath of Secrecy to Ms. Pearletta Lanns, former Judge of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court the recently appointed Chairperson of the Integrity Commission. The Oaths were administered by Registrar of the High Court Mrs. Janine Harris–Lake and witnessed by Commission Member Mrs. Carol Boddie, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Ms. Diana Francis and Clerk of the National Assembly Mrs. Sonia Boddie–Thompson. Apologies for absence were extended on behalf of the Attorney General and Commission Member Mr. Dennis Knight.
