BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, September 25, 2019 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris is continuing his round of meetings aimed at furthering the interests of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis and the wider Caribbean region throughout the day, today.
Prime Minister Harris, along with his CARICOM colleague Heads, will today (Wednesday, September 25) be engaged in meetings on the margins of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Dr. Harris stated that one of the meetings he is most looking forward to is that with India’s Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. The St. Kitts and Nevis prime minister indicated that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India is showing a keen interest in revitalizing its relationship with the region.
The meeting is likely to cover joint ventures and tourism, targeting India’s diaspora in North America and Europe particularly in areas of wellness. India’s candidatures in the International Maritime Organization, the ICAO, and the United Nations Security Council are among other matters to be discussed.
High Commissioner of the Republic of India to St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. K.J. Srinivasa, presented his credentials to Prime Minister Harris during this year’s Independence celebrations.
