Schools Independence Activities for 2019 Head Toward Spectacular Culmination

(EMU) – St. Kitts, October 21, 2019: With less than a week before the Independence Night of Dance, the final event of the Education Ministry organized activities for 2019; persons are still voicing their admiration of the well executed and contested School Beautification competition.

This competition which was coordinated by John Gumbs principal of the St. Pauls Primary School resulted in some spectacular upgrades to school aesthetics.

According to Mr. Gumbs this first time Independence activity for all public schools saw the St Pauls Primary emerge winner at the primary school level with Deane Glasford and Sandy Point taking the second and third places respectively.

At the secondary level Charles E Mills and Basseterre High earned first and second position.

 “All schools were winners in this competition. The effort that the schools put in, in combination with the parents and students, has helped to create a more beautiful, attractive and welcoming environment, ” Mr. Gumbs stated.

Meanwhile, according to Permanent Secretary and chairman of the Schools Independence Activities Committee, William Hodge, plans are moving apace for the Schools Independence Night of Dance Event on Sunday October 27th.

The event scheduled for 5pm at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium will feature dance companies from St Kitts and a special dance performance from Taiwan. The permanent secretary revealed that an event of this nature would usually be very costly however; every effort was made to make it available to the public at a minimal cost.
