BASSETERRE (9th April, 2021): The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) will hold a VIRTUAL Caribbean Travel Marketplace, to assist the Caribbean Travel and Tourism industry buyers and sellers and stimulate air and cruise arrivals, with consumer confidence increasing in the United States with the roll out of the vaccine.

The Caribbean Travel Marketplace will virtually take place from the 11th to 14th May, 2021. At this premier annual gathering, Caribbean hospitality and tourism professionals meet with regional colleagues and international buyers and sellers virtually, in 15 minute appointments.

Minister of Tourism The Hon. Lindsay F.P. Grant urged local stakeholders to take full advantage of the opportunity to showcase their product offerings, which will further support the destination’s promotion.

“The virtual edition of the Caribbean Travel Marketplace means that event is easily accessible without the travel and accommodation expenses,” Minister Grant said. “As we look to rebuild tourism in 2021, I urge tourism stakeholders to participate in the CHTA Travel Marketplace, to engage with tour operators, travel advisors, partners, trade and consumer media and influencers, to network, showcase, and sell their products and services, through prescheduled virtual appointments.”

Minister Grant pointed that the following stakeholders should register for the event: Accommodations
Attractions
Destination Management Companies
Transportation providers (rental cars, ground transportation providers)
In its virtual format, the Caribbean Travel Marketplace will be presented over four days to incorporate additional elements without impacting the core buying and selling appointments.

The show will seek to maximize participants’ time and avoid long hours spent in front of a computer screen. Events will be scheduled to accommodate delegates’ participation in multiple time zones, and will allow for more than one representative per company at pre-scheduled appointments.
