The St. Kitts-Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce (SKNCIC) commends the swift response and
actions taken by the authorities to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus in the Federation as a result
of the latest case which was identified yesterday by the Health Authorities.
The Ministry of Health is engaged in a comprehensive contact tracing exercise to identify possible
contacts of the latest positive case.
In response to the announcement made by the CMO and acting on the advice of the Task Force, the
Commissioner of Police has directed that effective immediately, all approved events are canceled until
further notice.
We wish to implore and remind our members, non-members, and the general business community at
large to continue to engage, adhere and enforce the Non- pharmaceutical Covid-19 Prevention
Measures as stipulated in the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Act.
The Business Community is reminded that all employees and patrons entering their business place must
wear masks covering the nose, sanitize upon entrance and temperature check where possible, maintain
a physical distance of six (6) feet, and exercise good hygiene practices throughout the day.
The Covid-19 Compliance Team will be stepping up their compliance enforcement activities in the
Federation to ensure full compliance with the public health measures at all business establishments and
other public spaces.
The Chamber further advises and encourages all business owners, employers, managers, and their team
members to continue to support the “Rollup to Rollout Vaccination Program” to achieve our goal of 70%
herd immunity. There is simply no time like the present to make an extra effort and decision to protect
yourself and your family in the uncertain days ahead.
