Reverend Ericson Cumberbatch led the blessing of the vehicle with a special prayer that asked for the overall protection of the truck and its occupants.

During the ceremony, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Ron Dublin-Collins, officially handed over the vehicle keys to Acting Director in the Department of Agriculture, Dr. Tracey Challenger.

While accepting the keys, Dr. Challenger expressed gratitude. She said, “I thank the Ministry and Finance because this would not be possible without the collaboration of both institutions. The receiving of the vehicle is timely because it would allow us to expedite some of the projects that are ongoing at the Department. I also admonish the drivers to take care of the vehicle because it is a scarce commodity”.

The pickup truck will be stationed at the recently relaunched Bayford’s Livestock Centre of Excellence and is expected to provide support to activities that will boost productivity in the center’s breeding programs.
