Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 13, 2021 (RSCNPF): An illegal firearm was taken into custody by the Police following a search that was conducted on an abandoned building on East Park Range. During the search on Thursday (August 12, 2021), one (1) Smith and Wesson .40 Pistol was found.
Officers routinely include empty lots and abandoned properties in their search operations around the Federation. It regularly results in the seizure of illegal firearms and illicit drugs. The move is part of an overall strategy to keep citizens and residents safe.
To date, six (6) illegal firearms have been taken into Police custody.
