Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 19, 2021 (SKNIS): The Ministry of Education, through Permanent Secretary Mr. William Vincent Hodge, announced the winner of the Independence 38 Theme Competition. The winner is Mr. Emani Samuel, a third-form student of the Verchilds High School, making it two consecutive years that a high school student has won the competition.

The winning theme “Adapt, Diversify, Recreate: Independence 38” was selected by the Federal Cabinet from one hundred and fifty (150) submissions. The criteria for theme selection stated that the theme must be concise, memorable, a phrase, a clause, or a short sentence of no more than six to eight words focusing on national wellness and economic rejuvenation. An internal rhyme scheme and a pattern of rhythm would enhance the theme.
