Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 20, 2021 (NEMA): The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and the St. Kitts and Nevis Met Office have now discontinued monitoring Tropical Storm Peter.
At 500 am today, the centre of Tropical Storm Peter was located near latitude 19.1 North, longitude 59.5 West of the Northern Leeward Islands. Peter is moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph. This general motion is expected to continue during the next couple of days, followed by a turn to the northwest with a decrease in forward speed on Wednesday.
There is no longer any major threat from Tropical Storm Peter at this point, however, there may be some lingering moisture in the atmosphere as Peter exists the monitoring area.
Please note that no watches nor warnings are in effect for St. Kitts and Nevis and none will again be required for this system.

Residents are asked to stay tuned to the National Emergency Management Agency and the St. Kitts and Nevis Met Office as we closely monitor the systems in the Atlantic.
