During the brief presentation ceremony, Prime Minister Harris said “COVID-19 reminds us of the need to protect ourselves and in that regard, we have to do a lot more to ensure most of what we eat, most of what we use, most of what we produce here are being used in St. Kitts and Nevis.”

“Food security and quality nutrition become critically important for the future, so as we attempt to adapt, diversify and recreate all areas of national engagement, this new truck that has now been added to your fleet of vehicles here would certainly help in pursuing your mandate,” he added

“Clearly, the refrigerated facility would allow for fresher meat, higher quality, and of course maintain a consistent quality here so it is an important addition and the government is prepared to work with you to do more,” the prime minister said.

“Do not forget that the customers are critically important, whoever comes here must feel a sense of comfort. You must be courteous in your service and polite so that people want to come again and they have good reviews to spread with regards to the abattoir,” Prime Minister Harris added.

Minister Jeffers, in receiving the donation, said, “We want to bring this to the general public to show you that we are serious about agriculture and are serious in our pursuit to ensure agriculture continues to grow here in the Federation,”
