(Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 30, 2021):
The Eastside Small Ruminants Association will be hosting its Muttn or Nuttn’ luncheon at the Agro Strip on Friday December 3 2021.
The association was recently formed by several small ruminant farmers between Ottley’s and Parsons village, who raise animals like sheep and goat for livestock production.
Livestock Extension Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture, who is responsible for Small Ruminants, Delesha Huggins explained the purpose for the Muttn or Nuttn’ luncheon.
Huggins said, “This event is geared towards exposing our locals to the local meat as opposed to the imported meat to give a taste to what our local farmers can produce. So I am encouraging everyone Friday, the third, Agro Strip, come on out and join us”.
Special Mutton lunches will be available for a mere $20 per meal in support of the local farmers.
The public can expect to be served goat water; grilled, stewed and curried mutton.
Interested persons can contact 764-0518 for more information.
