Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 15, 2022 (SKNIS): The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis is
aware of a fake list of frontline workers to be paid an honorarium that is circulating on social
media. The government has not issued any such list.

During the Post- Cabinet Briefing for the Cabinet Meeting held on Monday, September 12, 2022,
Cabinet Secretary Dr. Marcus Natta reported that ministers met and made several significant
decisions to improve the well-being of our people. One such decision was that frontline workers
who were instrumental in ensuring that citizens and residents remain safe and secure during the
height of the COVID-19 Pandemic will be paid an honorarium.
“The government continues its efforts to recognize our frontline workers, that is, the essential
workers who have been working throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and who have been called
to meet the basic needs of the people of the Federation and all inbound and outbound travellers
to and from the Federation. As such, the Cabinet has approved the payment of an honorarium to
frontline workers for the services provided to their fellow citizens and residents,” Dr. Natta
reported.

“However, it is important to note that persons who previously received any form of
compensation for work directly related to the COVID-19 pandemic will not be eligible for an
honorarium under this initiative,” Dr. Natta added.
