The purpose of the camp is to encourage the development of a greater understanding among the youth of the world using music as the universal language. Over 150 of the finest Artist-Teachers and Guest Conductors will provide an enriching musical experience through master classes, music theory, private lessons and full ensemble rehearsals.

The Ministry of Youth Empowerment will be selecting two students who are outstanding in the field of music for this rewarding opportunity that covers the areas of Band, Musical Theatre, Choir, Piano, Guitar, Jazz Band, Vocal Jazz and Orchestra.

According to Youth Officer Suelika Creque, this amazing opportunity is for aspiring musicians who are exceptional in the field of music.

“We have so many outstanding young people in the field of music from the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis who can truly benefit and learn from this great opportunity. We are asking for youth between the ages of 14-18, to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to advance in whatever area of music they are interested in,” she said.

Creque said that interested persons will go through an interview process in order to be selected and must email their name and contact information to youth@gov.kn with the subject “International Music Camp”.

The deadline for submissions is March 1st 2023 and selected individuals should have a valid United States Visa and available to travel during the month of July.
