The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Saint Christopher (Saint Kitts) and Nevis welcomes and appreciates the Resolution passed by the National Assembly of Saint Christopher and Nevis on 4th April 2023, endorsing Taiwan’s bid to participate in various international organizations. The Resolution follows the Statements from the Saint Kitts and Nevis Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister, Honourable Dr. Terrance M. Drew, supporting the robust partnership between Taiwan and St. Kitts and Nevis since the two countries forged friendly ties some 40 years ago.

On behalf of the Government and People of Taiwan, the Embassy expresses our appreciation to the Saint Kitts and Nevis Government and National Assembly for their continued support and recognition of the deep and enduring friendship between our two nations, which is based on shared values of democracy, human rights and the rule of law.

We are proud to be recognized by the National Assembly for our contributions to global public health, especially in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Taiwan is committed to working with St. Kitts and Nevis and other countries around the world to promote public health, and we look forward to continued cooperation and collaboration in this critical area.

We are also honoured to be acknowledged for our efforts in the fight against climate change and transnational crime. Taiwan is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and is dedicated to sharing its experience and expertise in this area with the international community. We are also committed to working closely with St. Kitts and Nevis and other countries to combat transnational crime and terrorism and to promote global security and justice.

Finally, we appreciate the National Assembly’s recognition of Taiwan’s importance in the development and governance of international civil aviation. Taiwan is committed to working with the international community to safeguard global aviation safety and to help reconnecting the world in the post-pandemic recovery.

The Taiwan Embassy in St. Kitts and Nevis extends profound gratitude to the National Assembly for its endorsement of Taiwan’s professional, pragmatic and constructive participation in international organizations, such as the United Nation (UN), the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
