(Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 20, 2023);
A two-member team of technical experts from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), met with Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Marine Resources and Cooperatives, Miguel Flemming during a tour of the Department of Marine Resources and its affiliate facilities on Tuesday, 11th July 2023.

The meeting provided the team with the opportunity to discuss the re-sensitization of the “Strengthening Sustainable Use and Management of Coastal Fisheries Resources in the CARICOM Countries” project with Acting Director of the Department of Marine Resources, Randel Thompson, along with other senior management and technical staff.

The technical team comprised Mr. Ichiro Mimura, Chief Representative at JICA and Ms. Urushihata Hitomi, Project Formulation Advisor.

At the end of the meeting, Asim Jenkins, Manager of the Basseterre Fisheries Complex and Trizan Leader, Manager of the Old Road Fisheries Complex engaged with the representatives from Japan and treated them with a tour of their respective facilities.
