On Sunday 5th November, a group of nationals studying and working in Taiwan took over the main stage of the travel fair and gave a thrilling 23-minute performance titled ‘We are the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis’. Nationals played musical instruments including steel pan, guitar, keyboard, and djembe drums, sang popular Saint Kitts and Nevis songs, danced, and paraded in folklore costumes and batik dress to win over the audience.

In addition to winning the award, the Embassy’s booth was one of the most popular among the visitors who stopped by to get information about Saint Kitts and Nevis and played games to win Saint Kitts and Nevis’ gifts and merchandise such as t-shirts, bags, smart cards, wrist bands, caps, cups and cup coasters.

His Excellency Ambassador Donya L. Francis said that this year’s booth was designed to capture both tourism slogans, Saint Kitts Venture Deeper and Nevis Naturally.

“The Taiwanese people have a passion for mountain climbing and walking along nature trails, so this year we chose to include the rainforest and waterfall in the design of our booth,” explained Ambassador Francis.

Ambassador Francis further mentioned that during the four days, he met with some travel and tour agencies to discuss the possibility of mini-group tours from Taiwan to Saint Kitts and Nevis.

“We are hoping that by fall of next year we will be at the Taoyuan International Airport seeing off our first group of Taiwanese tourists as they leave for our twin island paradise,” smiled Ambassador Francis.
