Cannabis (Amendment) Bill, 2023 

SAINT CHRISTOPHER AND NEVIS 

No. of 2023 

A BILL to amend the Cannabis Act, No. 8 of 2020. 

BE IT ENACTED by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the  advice and consent of the National Assembly of Saint Christopher and Nevis, and by the authority of the same as follows: 

1. Short title. 

This Act may be cited as the Cannabis (Amendment) Act, 2023. 

2. Interpretation. 

In this Act,  

“Act” means the Cannabis Act, No. 8 of 2020. 

3. Amendment of section 2. 

The Act is amended in section 2 by  

(a) deleting the definition of the expression “place of worship”; 

(b) replacing the definition of the expression “Minister” with the following new  definition 

“Minister” means the Minister responsible for Agriculture;”. 

4. Amendment of section 8. 

The Act is amended in section 8 (2) (b) by replacing the expression “four other persons”  with the expression “seven other persons”. 

5. Amendment of section 39. 

The Act is amended in section 39 by deleting that section. 

6. Amendment of section 49. 

The Act is amended in section 49 by deleting paragraph (f).

7. Amendment of section 51. 

The Act is amended in section 51 by deleting paragraph (j).
