A BILL to amend the Immigration Act, Cap. 6.02 and for related matters 

BE IT ENACTED by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice  and consent of the National Assembly of Saint Christopher and Nevis and by the  authority of the same as follows: 

1. Short title. 

This Act may be cited as the Immigration (Amendment) Act, 2023. 

2. Interpretation. 

In this Act, the expression, “Act” refers to the Immigration Act, Cap. 6.02. 3. Amendment of Section 2. 

Section 2 of the Act, is amended by inserting the following definition in  the correct alphabetical order 

“financial or other material benefit” includes any type of financial or non-  financial inducement, payment, bribe, reward, advantage, privilege or   service, including sexual or other services” 

3. Amendment of Section 32. 

The Act is amended in section 32 as follows:

(a) in subsection (2)(a) by replacing the expressions, “fifty” with the  expression, “one hundred” and “three” with the expression “five”; and 

(b) in subsection (2)(b), by replacing the expression, “one hundred”  with the expression, “two hundred” and “five” with the expression  “seven”.
