The Human Resource Management Department on behalf of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure et al wishes to invite suitably qualified persons to fill the position of a Chief Engineer at the Water Services Department. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluation, planning, designing, and implementation of the construction and operations of all facilities, systems, and related engineering activities of the water distribution system.

CONTRIBUTION OPTION TO NEW PENSION PLAN ENSURES EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures Manager/Water Engineer is updated on progress of all activities.
  • Has oversight of and supervises all engineering and technical operations.
  • Develops the Water Development Master Plan (WDMP) and keeps it updated.
  • Preparation of Capital Projects to improve the delivery of Water Services
  • Coordinates intersectional activities.
  • Ensures that adequate materials and equipment are available for smooth operations.
  • Facilitates relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Acts in the absence of the Manager/Water Engineer
  • Performs other related duties.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree (Engineering or related Discipline)
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a senior engineering position.

Knowledge & Skills:

In addition to the requirements above, the post holder must have the following skills:

  • Good command of the English language
  • Principles and practice of engineering
  • Principles and Practice of Project/Operations Management
  • Principles of water production systems
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Good with targets and tight deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license

Salary: (K42) ($94,164) per annum
