“I am particularly encouraged by the National Bank’s forward thinking approach to recognising the importance of small businesses and entrepreneurs as key drivers of economic growth and look forward to exploring how the Ministry can further collaborate with the bank to create more robust and sustainable environments for our small businesses to grow,” said Minister Duggins.

Minister Duggins also spoke about the need for creating a supportive environment where investment in small businesses are prioritised and celebrated as the culture of the nation is trending towards a more self-sufficient and sustainable island state.

In addressing the small business class directly, the Honourable Minister not only praised their successes but also acknowledged their plights. He said, “We see you, we hear you, we understand the challenges you face and we are committed to ensuring that you have the tools, the resources and the support needed for your businesses to succeed.”

He ensured as well that the resources being made available to the entrepreneurs are a range of financial products that are  specifically tailored to meet their needs. The suite is dedicated to empowering and supporting the needs of the small business owners as they transition to a more sustainable state.
