The Human Resource Management Department on behalf of the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Commerce and Consumer Affairs wishes to invite suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Air Quality Technician. 

The successful candidate will mostly be responsible for the technical aspect of the IAQ (Internal Air Quality) such as collecting and testing samples.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Air Quality Officer in all aspects of air quality monitoring
  • Compile data, maintain files, and prepare periodic and special reports
  • Collect air quality sampling and testing in accordance with SKNBS procedures
  • Must be able to enter unsanitary places inside buildings
  • Be abreast of the Standards used in air quality monitoring
  • Able to communicate with third party laboratories efficiently
  • Perform good customer service
  • Uses monitoring equipment and instrumentation to measure and evaluate various emissions, particulates and mould
  • Responds to and investigates limited types of complaints of air pollution problems; determine nature and extent of problem

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • The IAQ Technician should be versed in the field of science, such as chemistry, Biology or Environmental Science.
  • Should have a minimum requirement of an Associate’s Degree in a science related field

Requirements:

In addition to the requirements above, the post holder must be able to:

  • Conduct limited field inspections.
  • Preparing clear and concise reports.
  • Maintaining accurate records and files.
  • Exercise sound independent judgment and initiative within general policy guidelines.
  • Understanding and explain technical rules and regulations.
  • Operating standard office equipment.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.

Salary: (K22- K27) ($41,196 – $51,180) per annum
