The event, a staple among the diaspora community in New York, serves as a vibrant platform for Kittitians and Nevisians to connect, share experiences, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of their homeland. Over the past decade, KANA has played a pivotal role in fostering a sense of unity and support among expatriates, promoting numerous initiatives that contribute back to their communities, both in the U.S. and back home in St. Kitts and Nevis.

During the breakfast, Prime Minister Dr. Drew expressed his appreciation for the diaspora’s ongoing engagement and commitment to national development.

“It is heartwarming to see how our nationals abroad continue to uplift the name and values of our beloved country. Your efforts in KANA and individual contributions significantly bolster our nation’s development, embodying the true spirit of ‘Country Above Self’,” said Prime Minister Dr. Drew.

The highlight of the event was the recognition ceremony where several individuals were awarded by KANA for their outstanding contributions to nation-building. This year’s Country Above Self honourees included Euriel Williams, Eustace Queeley, Avril Frances, and Aubrey Webster, whose efforts have been instrumental in various sectors including education, community service, and international advocacy.Prime Minister Dr. Drew presented the awards and congratulated the awardees, acknowledging their dedication and impact.”

Today, we celebrate not just the spirit of independence but the enduring impact of those who commit themselves to our collective advancement. Congratulations to all the awardees; your hard work and dedication resonate beyond borders.

“The Kittitians and Nevisians Association continues to be a cornerstone of support and cultural preservation for the Kittitian and Nevisian diaspora in New York, providing resources and networking opportunities that strengthen ties and empower individuals to contribute effectively to their homeland’s growth.
