The Morocco Roadmap of Cooperation will contribute significantly to food security through the provision of fertiliser from Morocco, a vital resource that will enhance agricultural productivity in St. Kitts and Nevis. Additionally, the agreement includes a provision for technical assistance aimed at advancing the green transition to renewable energy, underscoring both countries’ commitment to sustainability. Morocco will also continue its support in capacity building through the provision of scholarships for students from St. Kitts and Nevis, fostering educational growth and strengthening bilateral ties.

In further strengthening diplomatic relations, Dr. Douglas and Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates signed a joint communiqué that highlights the achievements of the roadmap and emphasises continued cooperation in the international arena. Both leaders hailed the communiqué as an example of efficient diplomacy, recognizing the swift and effective collaboration that made this agreement possible.

Dr. Douglas’ engagement with the Moroccan press following the signing demonstrated the commitment of St. Kitts and Nevis to advancing these cooperative initiatives. This diplomatic success, Dr. Douglas said, signals a deepening of relations and a shared vision for a more prosperous future for both countries.

The foreign minister said that this latest agreement reflects the enduring strength of the St. Kitts and Nevis-Morocco relationship and sets the stage for further collaborative efforts in the coming years.
