At the church service, Saint Kitts and Nevis’ Ambassador to Taiwan, His Excellency Donya L. Francis, and Saint Kitts and Nevis’ nationals were joined by Taiwan’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Remus Li-Guo Chen, other Ambassadors, and members of the Diplomatic Corps.

During his remarks at the church service, Ambassador Francis explained that this year’s Independence Day theme, ‘Together a People, Proud and Strong: Independence 41’, underscores the significance of camaraderie, pride, and strength as the cornerstones of our Federation’s history and continued advancement.

“This theme encapsulates the essence of our country’s motto: Country Above Self, which resonates deeply within the hearts of all our citizens, guiding our actions and shaping our identity. Through collaboration, cultural pride, and a shared vision for a sustainable future, the people of this beautiful nation exemplify what it means to prioritize the country over personal interests,” said Ambassador Francis.

His Excellency Francis added that the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis, their pride and strength, have brought the Federation unparalleled success across various domains on local, regional, and international stages, from sports and education to youth and women’s empowerment, entertainment, politics, and more.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Remus Li-Guo Chen, conveyed congratulations on behalf of the people and Government of Taiwan. He emphasized the enduring, mutually advantageous relationship between the nations and expressed appreciation to the government and people of Saint Kitts and Nevis for their ongoing support for Taiwan.

The Sports Day, co-organized by the Association of Saint Kitts and Nevis Nationals in Taiwan, brought together over fifty-five Kittitians and Nevisians who engaged in various games testing their physical ability, teamwork, and knowledge of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The Embassy extends gratitude to the nationals in Taiwan and the Embassy’s staff for their assistance and participation in the events and thanks the students who contributed to the church service and the sports day.
