BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – November 15, 2024 (PMO) – St. Kitts and Nevis is poised to welcome over one million tourists this season, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s tourism recovery. This resurgence underscores the effectiveness of strategic initiatives aimed at revitalizing the sector post-pandemic.

To this, Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, during an interview on Freedom FM’s ‘Issues’ program, commended the Hon. Minister of Tourism — Marsha Henderson, for her leadership in steering the industry towards this remarkable achievement. “Tourism in St. Kitts and Nevis is back and stronger than ever. We expect over one million visitors this season, a testament to our resilience and vision,” stated Dr. Drew.

The anticipated influx of tourists is attributed to several key factors:

The Ministry of Tourism has implemented targeted marketing campaigns in major source markets, highlighting the unique attractions and experiences that St. Kitts and Nevis offer.

Significant investments have been made in upgrading tourism infrastructure, including the expansion of the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport and improvements to cruise ship facilities, ensuring a seamless experience for visitors.

The government has established robust health and safety measures to instill confidence among travelers, positioning the Federation as a safe and desirable destination.

In line with the government’s commitment to sustaining this growth trajectory, Prime Minister Drew announced plans to travel to Miami for discussions on major tourism investments. These talks aim to attract new partnerships and capital to further enhance the sector’s offerings. Significant updates from these discussions are expected on December 3rd, according to the Prime Minister.

The government remains dedicated to fostering a sustainable and inclusive tourism industry that benefits all citizens. By leveraging strategic investments and partnerships, St. Kitts and Nevis is set to solidify its position as a premier destination in the Caribbean.
