Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 13th, 2025 (PMO)—The Budget Boost Wallet (BBW), a
short-term financial relief initiative launched by the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, is
set to benefit over 22,000 citizens across the Federation.

During a detailed discussion on ZIZ Radio on January 13, 2025, Cabinet Secretary Dr.
Marcus Natta and Permanent Secretary of Social Development Ms. Azilla Clarke, provided
critical updates on the registration processes, eligibility criteria, and the role of the JAD
digital wallet in the program’s execution.

The BBW initiative offers EC$250 monthly for six months to individuals earning $5,000 or
less in gross income per month. The funds can be used for essential expenses such as
food, utilities, and mortgages through a seamless and secure cashless platform powered
by JAD. Dr. Natta emphasized the government’s focus on targeted assistance during
these challenging economic times. “This program is not just a handout; it’s a strategic
initiative to ease the financial burden caused by global inflation, while ensuring
accountability and impact,” he stated.

Ms. Clarke elaborated on the streamlined registration process, noting that individuals who
have previously been issued a digital wallet for government programs like Aspire or the
Back-to-School initiative are automatically enrolled and do not need to re-register.
However, for those new to government assistance, registration can be completed online
via the JAD platform. “There is no need to rush. We already have the data for many
eligible participants, and the process is designed to be simple and efficient,” Clarke
explained.

She further assured the public of the program’s transparency and security. “Your personal
data is protected and governed by local laws and the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.
JAD has been a trusted partner in several government initiatives and provides a secure
platform for cashless transactions,” Clarke stated.

Notably, payments will be made on the last working day of each month, and registration
remains open until 11:59 PM the day before payments are processed. However, late
registrations will not receive retroactive payments. Citizens are encouraged to ensure their
contact details are up-to-date to avoid disruptions.

For assistance, individuals can contact the Ministry of Social Development at 467-1370 or
662-5993, or email BBWallet@gov.kn.

Businesses interested in participating can also reach out via 467-1020 or directly to JAD at
661-5237.
