Havana, Cuba, May 23rd, 2025 (PMO) — In a historic and deeply meaningful meeting, the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, and his delegation, were welcomed by His Excellency Miguel Díaz-Canel, President of the Republic of Cuba.
The meeting, held at the Presidential Palace in Havana, on May 22, emphasized the strength and vitality of the enduring relationship between the two nations, one that is primed by international standards and upholds international law, which includes international humanitarian law.
President Díaz-Canel extended heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Drew for his visit.
The two leaders engaged in wide-ranging discussions, exploring new avenues for collaboration, specifically in tourism, agriculture, cultural exchange, health, and education, areas that have long formed the backbone of their bilateral partnership.
Prime Minister Drew, speaking about the special bond between the two countries, stated, “Cuba is not just a partner, but a dear friend to St. Kitts and Nevis. Ours is a relationship built on possibility, mutual respect, and a shared determination to create a better world for our peoples.”
He expressed profound gratitude for Cuba’s unwavering support during the COVID-19 pandemic, noting, “If it were not for Cuba’s generosity and expertise, our nation would have faced far greater challenges in navigating the crisis. Your solidarity saved lives.”
